Mallory Family Update: Do you want the good news or the bad news first??

Okay, lets start with good news......We are in California safe and sound and absolutely looove our new house. Its location on Coronado Island is especially spectacular. Pictures coming soon, I promise.
More good news.....Susannah is as beautiful and happy as ever:

And now for the bad news.......
These are the crates that held all of our household goods on their journey over from France. When the movers arrived on Tuesday and started opening them to unload all of our furniture, they noticed that all of the crates were molded. So all of our shipment was loaded back onto the truck and taken back to the warehouse where Peter and I spent an entire day sifting through every box to see what was salvagable. (Thanks Shannon for keeping Susannah all day.) This was my best attempt at a positive attitude before they broke open the first crate:

We were able to salvage around half of our things. Upholstered furniture, linens, books and some clothes were lost. We were able to keep most pictures though which was great news. We are in the process now of replacing all the necessities so that we can move out of the hotel and into our little cottage. As soon as things settle down, I will be posting pictures from our time in Knoxville, the rest of our time in LaGrange, and of course, lots of pics of Susannah at the beach and in our awesome backyard. All prayers for Mommy and Daddy's sanity over the next week or so are greatly appreciated. :)

Susannah-palooza 2011

It's have a been quite some time since our last post, so we decided to dust off the blog some and post a few highlights from our visit home to the Southeast. The stop in the southeast is a great way to let Susannah meet all her relatives and see our families again before flying out to our new home in San Diego, California.

After a lengthy 12 hour trans-lant flight to Atlanta (during which Susannah never cried we are proud to report) Susannah met her Poppy for the very first time.

Our little jet lagged baby adjusted well and has been entertaining Mimi ever since.

Of course the big introduction was between the two new playmates, that's to say Susannah and her new best buddy in San Diego...our lab Meadow. It was joy at first sight...

...and smell! Meadow couldn't be more escastic to be introduced to this wonderful world of new smells that permeate in Susannah's vincinity not long after a meal. Meadow will be joining us in SD soon. While she is happy to be back with us, I think she will miss her tradition of sharing bacon and sausage biscuits from Tylers with my Dad every Saturday morning.

In addition to her new 100 lbs fluffy pillow, Suannah got to meet her Aunt Nancy for the very first time. Since her's is just starting to grow back, Susannah wasn't used my sister's flowing mane of hair.....

...but Nancy could definitely make her laugh.

We even had a big Mallory get together one weekend when cousins, aunts and uncles descended on my parent's house with hearty appetites, warm smiles and great families of their own. Mom-to-be Aunt Liz came into town as well as Uncle Hollis, or Uncle Haha for short.

It has been a great trip to LaGrange to see everyone and there is more to come until we head to San Diego in a couple of weeks. For now, though, Susannah is busy laughing with her Papa!

Up soon, Whit will report on their trip to Knoxville and East Tennessee to meet the rest of her family....and to say that they were excited to see her is an understatement.
