February

It's been a few weeks since I last posted and the weeks have been eventful to say the least.  Here are the pictures:

Susannah had a teacher work-day at her school on a day Sarah Avery's school was still in session, so we had a fun Mommy-Daughter day.

We shopped and had lunch (and gelato).    We also had another meeting of our "book club."   It was such a special day.

Both girls had to make Valentine's for school so we spent one afternoon working on that.   It was a family affair.

Susannah had a playdate one Saturday, so I took this one to Duck Donuts and the pet store......two of her favorite places.

Susannah had to make a timeline of her life for school and we had the best time picking out the pictures.   It turned out so cute!

A couple of weekends ago, I headed to Austin, Texas for a women's conference called the IF Gathering.   It was amazing for so many reasons, one of which was this girl, my oldest friend Lyndsey, meeting us there!

I went with four friends from my neighborhood and we met four other ladies from all over.

The teaching and music were amazing.   So were the tacos and margaritas.   It was so so fun.

We had expected warm Texas weather, which turned out to be the only disappointing thing about the trip.....it was as cold in Austin as it was in DC!    But, as those smiles indicate, we didn't really care.   Nothing could have dampened our excitement!

Meanwhile, back at the ranch........these girls had the best weekend with their Daddy.

Monday morning after my trip was a special day......Muffins with Moms at SA's school!

Before drop-off, we got to eat some yummy muffins and drink some juice and coffee together.

It was so fun being with my girl.

Sarah Avery and her best friend Judson love playing on the playground together.....even when the equipment is wet from the rain.

Before we knew it, it was Valentine's Day.    Susannah had designed a scavenger hunt for me to find my gifts.   It was so fun and adorable.

And these girls were pumped to open their little treat bags.

Meadow's hips are really giving her trouble so we have been preparing the girls that she may go to Heaven soon.   They are sad and trying to give Meadow extra love.

In other news, we had a small electrical fire at our house last Thursday morning.   Everybody and everything is ok, but we had several fire trucks blocking our street before school.

The girls loved the hats the firemen gave them.

The entire weekend we had workers in our house repairing things so we didn't have water or power or heat at different times throughout the weekend.   Our friends were awesome and stepped up to feed and house us though.    The girls loved all the extra playdates.

On Saturday the girls had a birthday party at a ballet studio.

They loved it!

Cupcakes were involved, of course.

The loved all the costume changes.

And while we were at the party, it snowed like crazy so we came home to this.   The dogs love the snow.

Peter was out of town this weekend, so I let the girls sleep with my one night.   Sweetest thing ever.

I mentioned Peter was out of town........this is the only evidence from his weekend reunion in Ashville with his Citadel friends.

And then yesterday, we went with some friends to see the Frozen: Disney on Ice show.

It was so fun.

And impressive.

Sarah Avery really enjoyed the $12 popcorn.

And Susannah the $12 cotton candy.

Seriously, it was so fun and the girls are the perfect age for it.

I felt so grateful to get to take them.
And that has been our February.    This weekend should be pretty uneventful and then we start looking forward to March and Spring Break!    We hope all of you are well.    All our love from Alexandria!
