Thanksgiving and sorry for the looong absence

Well, I think I have officially broken my record for longest time between blog posts.   Sorry!   I hope at least one of you is still reading.   ;)     We had a wonderful Thanksgiving break complete with visits to all of the grandparents.   Here are some photos......

Susannah was a great little traveler.   We had some extra time before boarding so we had a chance to stretch our legs at the airport.

Our first stop was Grammy's house in Tennessee.   We had the most beautiful fall weather,

 

so we went on lots of walks and collected lots of leaves and rocks.

 

We also spent lots of time at Grandmama's house.   Susannah was a bigger fan of the piano this time and, as evidenced by orange face, still loves Grandmama's spaghetti.

Another walk with Grammy.....Susannah loved getting bundled up in her new jacket and hat.

 

And she loved her Grammy.

She is really into Mommy's make-up lately too.

Since Peter had to work, he wasn't with us for the first part of our trip, so we sent him this silly picture to tell him we missed him.

Susannah was given lots of early birthday presents while we were there.

One of her favorites were these  awesome disney princess booties.

 

She loved getting to spend time with her Aunt Susan and Uncle Andy.

Before we knew it, it was time to say good-bye.   Susannah gave sweet kisses to everybody.

It was sad to have to leave so soon.

But we made lots of good memories while we were there.

Here we are waiting to board our flight in Knoxville.   Susannah loved the pretty tree.

 

And Monkey got to rock in the rocking chair while we waited on the plane.

 

 We were so excited to be reunited with Daddy.   Our first stop in LaGrange was Papa and Shoo-Shoo's house.   Susannah LOVEs their cats.

And playing in their big yard.  

 

 We also got to spend time with Mimi and Poppy.  

 Susannah loved playing bubbles with Poppy.

 So fun!

 And we went with Poppy and Mimi to get their Christmas tree too. 

 Susannah was a fan of the trees, but not so much the chainsaws.


As you can see, I was much better in Knoxville about taking photos.....by the time we were in LaGrange I was lazy.   And Peter has some good photos on his phone of Susannah with Aunt Nancy and Uncle Hollis and Cousin Clara Kate and Papa and Shoo-Shoo, but we are having technical difficulites that prevent me from accessing those.    Maybe we will add those pics on a later post.   Hope everybody had a nice holiday.    Thanks to all of our family and friends who made ours so wonderful   We love you all! 

Halloween 2012

Halloween 2012 was a big hit at the Mallory house.   We started celebrating early with a costume-birthday party for Susannah's best friend Leyton.

Later in the week, Susannah helped Daddy carve the pumpkins.   (Meadow helped too.)

Finished products........As evidenced by the white pumpkin, we were a little fired up after our win over Florida.

A friend gave us this adorable Halloween outfit.   It was a little small, but Susannah loved wearing it and pointed to the pumpkins all day.

As you can see, bunny, winnie the pooh, and baby doll all wanted to be in this picture too.

And here are our pictures from Halloween day.   Susannah LOVES her monkey more than any other stuffed animal, so we decided Curious George was the perfect costume for her.   And I loved the fact that Peter could dress up with her.    We all had such a great afternoon.  

All dressed up and ready to hit the neighborhood.

It was just as much fun for Mommy and Daddy as it was for Susannah.

She definitely knew something special was about to go down.

Coronado has a great set-up.   All of the businesses on Orange Ave (our main street) close at 3:00 and they give out candy for the rest of the afternoon.

Susannah was pretty brave.....I thought she might be shy.   But she marched right up to all the vendors, not even deterred by the crowds of big kids.  

She never actually said trick-or-treat.   She said it to us at home, but never to the vendors.  Her sweet face in that costume was enough to earn some good candy though. 



Her favorite part of the afternoon was by far the dogs in costume.   She LOVED them.   Even more than the candy.

She liked the candy too though.   As you can see here.   We decided to take a break from the crowds and everybody got to taste one piece of candy.  

The peanut butter cup was a hit with everybody.

It is so hard for me to believe that Susannah's second Halloween is already over and that I'm planning her 2nd birthday party!   Time is flying way too fast.   Hope all of you had a Happy Halloween.   We love and miss you all!
