First Doctor's Visit

Today was a big first........first Doctor's visit. We received a perfect report.......

Apparently Mommy and Daddy weren't imagining my longer legs and chubbier cheeks..........today I weighed a whopping 8 lbs 14 oz and measured 21.2 inches!!

2 days shy of 4 weeks and my how we have grown!!

No wonder I can't fit into my newborn clothes anymore!

Which is a good thing because it means I'm finally big enough to wear some more of the adorable gifts I was given, like this hat from my Aunt Beth and Uncle Dexter.

I look so cute in it, I can't help but smile......

Tomorrow is another big first.......first long car ride and first trip to America (Ramstein Airforce Base is officially the USA, right?)

Joyeux noël from Strasbourg

Today we are celebrating Susannah's first Christmas and just when we thought it couldn't get better, it did. We woke up this morning to a white Christmas and a foot and half of snow. Absolutely beautiful.

It has been snowing non-stop in Strasbourg since Christmas eve. We have a foot of the fluffy white powder and it shows no signs of stopping.

Needless to say, her first Christmas morning has been so special for everyone.

Susannah even helped Mommy open some of her presents.

Although, I think I know what Mommy and Daddy's favorite gift was this year.

Of course our beautiful baby girl loves the snow and she keeps asking to go out for walks. Yet, before venturing out into white wonderland we have to make sure we are all bundled up in our snow suit, which is on loan from our 3 yr old neighbor, Augustant.

Here we are in front of my university, IHEE.

It has snowed snow much here that normal means of transportation are futile.

Most folks here go with a faithful four-legged friend and cross-country skis to get around.

Merry Christmas!

A Christmas Photo Shoot and a Visit from Grammy

Week 2 of Susannah's life went by in a flash. One of the highlights was our first family visitor from the USA.....Grammy!!

Susannah was very happy to meet the first of her many proud grandparents........

They bonded right away.

And Grammy was even lucky enough to be here for Susannah's first Christmas photo shoot featuring a very adorable reindeer dress......

I looked so cute in my reindeer Christmas outfit.........

....that Mommy couldn't stop kissing me.....

.....and Daddy wanted to use me as a tree decoration.

As each day passes Susannah makes our lives brighter and brighter. What an amazing Chritsmas present!

Happy Birthday Susannah!

Today I am 1 week old

.
It has been a busy first few days at home. I have had lots of firsts, including my first bath at home:

my first walk.......

my first swing. (Daddy liked it because it gave him a chance to rest.)

my first passport photos........(this was a tough one since I had to open my eyes for the photo and I was in the middle of a nap.)

my first time to Strasbourg's famous Christmas Market or Marché de Noel .........Mommy even got to drink some vin chaud!

My first time picking out a Christmas tree........

Daddy carried the Christmas tree and the bread......pretty impressive considering the several blocks and 2 flights of stairs involved....

Without a doubt the best week of Mommy and Daddy's life so far....more to come!!

Homecoming

The Mallory family returned home from the hospital this morning and we are so happy to be back home.

Here is Susannah dressed so pretty in her going home outfit.

Dr. Jeanmougin, Whit's doctor who delivered Susannah, came by to give everybody a once over before releasing my beautiful girls. He is an absolutely amazing doctor and even brought Whitney a christmas cake to celebrate St. Nicolas Day in Alsace.

You can obviously tell by the look on her face that Susannah is ready to get home and get settled...but first Daddy had to change a diaper.

She is already the light of her mommy's life:

Susannah was quite content in her carrier and likewise during the car trip. We hope this is a sign of good things to come.

Mommy and Susannah waited patiently while Daddy settled up and got the car.

She was a good car rider as I made my way through the rain soaked streets of Strasbourg. Mommy was beside her the whole time telling her about the European Institutions as we drove past them on the way home.

We got home without Susannah opening an eye, we even had the chance to eat lunch together and watch her sleep. Absolutely incredible. She is the most amazing thing I have ever seen in my life. We have been so blessed.

More soon, now it's time to rest while we can.
