School is out and summer is officially here! Several exciting milestones have occurred over the past couple of months. Here are some of the highlights:
I spent my 44th birthday in Cape May, New Jersey, with these ladies. We had phenomenal weather and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
| We had the best meals and laughed all weekend. |
| Back in Alexandria, SA and Peter were finishing up a fantastic LAX season. |
| This cutie, Snufkins, was our houseguest for a weekend. |
| We all fell in love. |
| I enjoyed my free time after finishing the first year of seminary. One day, my friend Charlotte and I took a little adult field trip to the Library of Congress. |
| Peter won Dad of the Year by chaperoning the 5th-grade band field trip to Six Flags. On his birthday, no less! |
| Sarah and her friends had the best time, though, so I think he would say it was worth it. :) |
The next day, we celebrated with some brownies and presents.
 | VTS partnered with Christ Church to donate furniture. This was our moving team.
| These two beauties had a blast at their 8th-grade dance. |
| Can not believe how grown up they look. |
| Next up was the 8th-grade promotion ceremony in the ACHS gym. It was long and hot, but we were so incredibly proud of Susannah. |
| This isn't a good photo, but she received the "Shining Star" award for overall excellence. She was shocked and so honored. |
| Our beauty. |
| Officially ACHS class of 2029! |
| We couldn't be more proud of the young woman she is becoming. |
| Our next big milestone was SA's 5th-grade promotion. These are her two besties. They are so ready for middle school! |
| They were the last class before the school is rebuilt, so everybody signed the walls. |
| Our beautiful middle-schooler |
| We are so proud of her! |
| Post-graduation ice cream was an obvious choice. |
| And then the last official day of school was upon us. |
| How did my babies become so grown up and beautiful??? |
| Last photo in front of the GM sign. |
| The last day was a half-day, so we spent the afternoon at the pool. |
| SA helped us make our "No Kings Day" signs. |
| Susannah and I attended the Old Town rally with friends. |
| It was swelteringly hot, super crowded, and very inspiring. The perfect way to celebrate Flag Day and the 250th anniversary of our army. |
| The next day was Father's Day. We were so excited to celebrate Peter at Nats Stadium for a baseball game. |
| The weather was cool and cloudy, which was such a nice surprise. |
| It was free Hawaiian shirt day. |
| And the girls got to run the bases after the game. |
I think it was Peter's favorite Father's Day. We had the best time.
Next up is a little mini-vacation to Lewes, Delaware, for SA's lacrosse tournament. We hope all of you are having a fun and healthy start to your summer! We love and miss you all!
