SeaWorld

Well, we are in the final countdown to my back surgery.   And since Peter had Monday off, we decided to use our free military passes to Sea World while mommy was still able.   We had a great morning, enjoying the small crowds and cool weather.   Here are some of the highlights.......

We went straight to the sea lions and the seals and just as expected, Susannah LOVED them.

When they barked, she thought it was hilarious.

Giggling.

We bought some fish to feed to our new friends.

It was a great way to start the day.

Next we checked out the sharks. 

Susannah was a little clingy in this exhibit.   Smart girl.....

Susannah and Monkey had fun playing in a little toy raft.

And then we headed to the penguin house.

The penguins were Mommy's favorite part.

Next we headed over to Sesame Street to ride some kiddie rides and meet Elmo. 

Except that this one was terrified of both, so she ended up playing on this little trampoline floor for awhile and made Daddy ride "Flying Elmo" by himself.

We also visited the dolphin pool,

and attempted to pet one. 

We had more success with the starfish.

Susannah was really into the hands on stuff.

The roller coaster was closed for the day, so after the starfish, we decided to head home.

I really wanted  a sweet posed picture before we left, but this was the happiest face I got.  

My surgery is Tuesday, so this will probably be the last post for awhile.   The next time I do a blog post, I will be a couple of inches taller with a straight spine!!   :)

And there goes January.

Is it just me, or has time slowly adjusted itself to warp-speed lately?   I know it is so trite, but as I get older, the old adage about time flying by seems so true.   Scarily so.   When did Susannah turn into a little girl?   One that can talk and dress herself?   And count to 10?   And identify all of her colors?    (Oh how I wish I could add, "Use the big girl potty" to this list.    Fingers crossed that Grammy is going to make some strong headway in the potty training arena during her visit next week.)

The significance of this picture requires lots of explanation.....1.    That adorable kitty cat hat is one of her favorites, but when we got home from our run that day, it was missing and when I asked where it was, she replied, "On the sidewalk."   Peter retraced our route on bike and retrieved it.   2.   Notice the yellow thing beneath monkey?   That is one of Peter's swim caps.   For some reason, Susannah has deemed this Monkey's blanket and whenever we go somewhere, the "blanket" has to come because "Monkey is cold."

No pants, shoes on wrong feet.......

Hello Kitty hat 1990's hip-hop style, one of Mommy's race medals for bling, and super cool, but very crooked sunglasses.   When I said she could dress herself, I was using the term loosely.    

The independence thing has taken full effect so getting out of the house takes at least 5 minutes longer  because she insists on buckling anything that needs to be buckled.   The stroller is a perfect example.    We have been late to every commitment this week because of her new buckle obsession. 

Susannah's friend Adam is 4, so his parents gave us a few things that he has grown out of......Susannah LOVES her new chair, new legos, and new outdoor slide.
