Here Comes Summer!

We are drawing very near to the end of our first school year in Alexandria.   Soccer, swim lessons, and choir are all finished and the girls only have a few more days left of school.   We ended the year with lots of fun.   Here are the pictures.

Susannah loved her swim lessons.   Especially the end when they were allowed to jump off the diving board.

It always made me nervous, but she is a good swimmer and loves being in the water.

Peter has taken them to the blacktop behind Susannah's school to ride bikes.   SA loves "riding" her big girl bike.

And Susannah has officially mastered the two wheeler.

We celebrated Peter's 37th birthday with dinner outside and ice cream cake for dessert.

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Shoo Shoo won best birthday gift with the drone she sent.   He and the girls played with it every evening for a week.   (And crashed it into our neighbors fenced back yard one morning at 7 am.)

The girls love playing with it.

A weekend I had been looking forward to for months (years really) finally happened when I went to Athens to meet some of my oldest and dearest friends.   The first night we had dinner in the same restaurant where we ate the night we graduated from Georgia.   It was nostalgic to say the least.

Peter took great care of the girls.   Exhibit A......letting SA play with this pit bull.  ;)  Seriously though, the girls loved their weekend with Daddy and I was so thankful to get to go away for a girls weekend.

Susannah had her last soccer game and played a great game.  She even scored a goal!

While they were doing soccer, we were exploring campus.

We had to find our names across the street from the stadium.

We may have gone a little crazy in the bookstore too.   All the fun  memories made us want to buy all the georgia gear.

Our last night out on the town we tried to be cool and go to the roof of the Georgia Theatre but the air was too smoky and the band was too loud.   We decided that maybe we had aged out of that venue.

Sunday morning while I was sleeping in, Peter skipped Sunday school and took these girls to get their very first fast food biscuit.   They loved them!

Last weekend Peter and I attended a gala in DC.   It was really fun to get all dressed up.

And the girls loved seeing us in our outfits!

The event was at the Willard Hotel just across from the White House.   It was beautiful!

Saturday we made Popsicles and played in the backyard.

And played in the playroom when the heat got too crazy.
And that is it for our last few weeks.   We hope all of you are enjoying fun and relaxing summers.   We love and miss you all!
