15 months old and getting taller by the day!

This week we had Susannah's 15 month check-up.   She did so well during the visit.....she was really brave and didn't cry at all.......until the nurse gave her the first of her three shots that is......then she cried just like any of us would.   Unfortunately though, this round of shots offered up more than just the original stick of pain.   We were up most of that night with high fever and general yuckiness.   Eventually I brought her into the bed with me (which we never do) and even then, she would only sleep if she was directly on my chest.   It was so sad and I was so tired, but a tiny little part of me knew that I should treasure this season of her needing me so much.....time is flying already and I know we will be arguing over the length of her skirts before I know it.

The most fun part of the doctor's visit, of course, is when we get to hear the stats.   And this time was no different.   The mystery of why she is such a big eater was solved......she is growing like a weed!   She is now 2 ft 8 inches tall, which means she grew almost 2 inches in 3 months!   She weighs 23 lbs and 11 oz, which means she gained 3 lbs in 3 months!   She is now in the 64% for weight and the 91% for height......looks like she is going to be tall like her Mommy.   Here are some pictures of the "big girl" from this week.

Talk about a big girl outfit.....look at these jeans and this button-down!

Our balance is improving daily.....running down the hill in the front yard is no longer a problem.

Nor is running up the hill........

I still love to take walks down the sidewalk.

But this is probably my favorite place.....Spreckles Park!   She starts pointing and yelping as soon as she spots this playground from her stroller.

Can you tell from the outfit changes how crazy our weather is?   It is always sunny, but the temperature changes by the hour.

Watching Meadow act silly in the backyard.

I want to go for a ride now Mommy!

We love to play outside.

On our walk yesterday, a nice lady gave Susannah this flower from her garden.....it matched her shirt and she carried it for at least an hour.

Can't wait to help Dada with the grilling this summer.

Picking a flower in the backyard.

"Look at my flower Mommy!"

She still LOVES to wear her hats.....the more crooked on her head the better!

That's it for this week.   Hope everyone is well and enjoying nice spring weather!

A Busy Week of Fun

This week was a busy one.   Busy in a good way though.   Lots of fun and playing with good friends.   Here are some highlights......

We spent lots of time at the playgrounds on Coronado.   Susannah loves to "drive" on her way up to the slide.

She is fearless.......goes straight for the tallest slides.   So, of course, Mommy has to go with her.

The twisty ones are actually really fun.

We wore our first sundress of the year.   It was 80 today!

Such a big girl in this outfit!

This is our church outfit last week.   It was chilly so we got another wear out of our red sweater dress.   (and actually kept the bow in our hair for most of the day.)

I know this picture is blurry, but I had to mention Susannah's continued obsession with hats.

She wears them with such purpose.

The purpose being to win the "World's Most Adorable Toddler" award.  (At least in this momma's mind.)

After the warm fuzzy hat, this ladybug sun hat is another favorite.

We spent lots of time outside.   Susannah loves playing in the front yard.

And she loves walking to the park like a big girl.

We went out to dinner with some other moms and children.

It was a good dose of fun, mixed in with a fair amount of chaos.   I think all of the moms felt a little intimidated when we counted and realized the kids/babies had us outnumbered.   Safe to say a goooood tip was in order for our server.

Susannah is becoming increasingly attached to her glow baby.   She sleeps with it, but lately wants to keep it out of the crib with her.   She carries it all over the house.   Luckily she hasn't learned to try and take it when we go out.

We had our normal Wednesday morning playdate with our friend Leyton and the girls enjoyed a fun ride in Leyton's fancy wagon.

And Susannah loooved playing with her friend Addy's babydoll stroller.    One of these might be on Santa's list this Christmas.

We also love to work our puzzle.

This week was also the week that the discovery center took on a new role......step-stool.    Mommy is not a fan of this new interest in climbing things.   (Do you think she learned this from the goats at the petting zoo?)

We still love to play peek-a-boo, especially with this gift bag that somehow ended up in our toy box.

Where's Susannah?   There she is!!

Another hat we like to wear is Mommy's running hat.    And, of course, Meadow is still our favorite and most adored toy.

Susannah, watching you learn and grow is such a joy for this Mommy!

We have our 15 month check-up tomorrow, so expect a weight and height update next week.    Happy March Everybody!
