April has come and gone and I have continued to neglect this little blog. But now that May is here, I am back with all the highlights of the past several weeks including spring break in Tennessee and Easter.

| We have had lots of fun birthday parties, including this skating one at the Caps practice rink. |

| The girls had a blast, but Susannah fell on the ice and injured her arm, which knocked her out of the first 3 weeks of Lacrosse Season. She is back now though! |

| Susannah worked hard on this project for music class. |

| And that tiny little dot at the top of the climbing wall? That is Sarah........ apparently she flew up the tallest wall two times during this rock climbing birthday party. |

| We tried the new diner in the neighborhood. The cake was large, to say the least. |

| The food wasn't very good but the company was. |

| The girls look so grown up in this picture. This is ironic because they are reading a picture book that they were delighted I ordered for them recently. |

| And Sarah Avery is making up for lost time in the teeth department. She seems to lose one every day. |

| The girls had slumber parties two Saturdays in a row, which meant two date nights with this guy. We were so happy to be back in Old Town. |

| The weather has been nice so Sarah Avery so we took her homework and my book outside one afternoon. |

| We were so happy to celebrate Easter with our Alexandria "framily." |

| Spring in our neighborhood is always beautiful, but this year, with the darkness of war and loss hovering, the blue skies and colorful tree blossoms were healing agents. Every single walk filled me with gratitude. |

| We spend spring break in Tennessee visiting family and had the best day at Dollywood. |
 |
| These little cars were the tamest ride we rode. The girls wanted to ride every single roller coaster. |

| Seeing Lyndsey's new (old) house was another highlight. She moved into the house where her grandparent lived when we were children. So many memories in this pool. We had to recreate a 30-year-old photo on the diving board. |

| According to Betty, this is the day I learned to dive. ;) It is such a blessing to be able to share these memories and continue making new ones with our kids. |

| Watching our kids play together is just the greatest gift. |

| Mom kept the girls one night so Peter and I could have a date night. We had the best dinner on Market Square. |

And that was April. Our hearts are tender for all of the loss and heartbreak the past few months have brought, but we are thankful for friends and family and a beautiful community. Hope all is well with all of you.
