Happy Easter 2021!

Happy belated Easter to everybody!  We are currently in another lock-down due to COVID, so our April is turning out to be full of family time at home. We have made the best of it though and had a nice Easter.  We are still waiting for spring weather to arrive, but it is slowly starting to make brief appearances that give us hope of more sunshine to come.  Here are the pictures from our last month here in Kyiv.......

We are still playing lots of games.  Even more so now that the girls are back at home for online learning.

Sarah Avery and I play Jenga during her school breaks sometimes.

Breakfast time has been nice now that we are home learning because we all get to sleep in a bit and don't have to rush to the bus stop.

The girls have been using some of their free time to paint.

And Sarah Avery is officially an independent reader of chapter books now.  Sally is her favorite reading partner.

This is my view every morning as I try to pray and meditate.  It isn't distracting at all.  ;)

The easter bunny found us at our new house in Ukraine!

He even brought some American candy!

And he left his signature footprints too.

Despite the lock-down, we still managed a little neighborhood egg hunt.

It was scaled down, but we are planning a big one for May, when all the adults are fully vaccinated and the weather is a little brighter.

We used our first truly warm afternoon of the year to dye our eggs.

Peter came home from work early to get in on the fun.

The Ukrainian kits made the brightest eggs.

The girls were into it.  ;)

So was their Daddy.

We had one other really nice afternoon so I made a little backyard picnic for the girls and some of their friends.

Most days are still chilly enough for a fire though.  Peter has taught Susannah how to tend to the fires in our fireplace and she loves it.

Lock-down means our Daisy meetings are on zoom, but Sarah Avery kept the spirit alive and wore her vest.  This is the craft they made.

Susannah's best friend Maja celebrated her tenth birthday this month and Susannah had her first sleepover to celebrate.  The family invited Susannah to stay for Maja's Saturday morning art class and Susannah loved it.

We hope that all of you are happy and healthy.  We are so looking forward to seeing many of you in just a couple of months!  Love and hugs from Kyiv!
