We didn't notice a lot of other cars on the bridge, but after paying the toll I understood why. However, with that said, driving in the EU is really easy and is like driving in the states. The open borders allow free travel of everything between the member-states.
We contemplated an unplanned stop in Copenhagen, but it was voted the most bicycle friendly city in the world in 2009 and they Danes are trying to phase out cars....so we decided to press on to Germany where the only thing they have phased out are speed limits. Don't get us wrong, we love to bike around Strasbourg. It is absolutely to best way to commute here thanks to the bicycle infrastructure and rules of the road.

After cruising through the Danish country-side we arrived at the ferry dock in Gedser, Denmark just in time to see the ferry pulling up for us.
It had been a long time since I had been on a boat, so I was inspired by some music that was introduced to me by my brother.
We had a 2 hour ride across the Baltic Sea and we took the chance to relax and watch the ship push its way through the ice. Thanks to 5 seasons of the "Deadliest Catch", we were able to identify different types of sea ice during our voyage across the Baltic.
We finally made it to Rostock, Germany, a nice little fishing village with lots of character. Our hotel location in the heart of town allowed us to take advantage of the city and find a great restaurant.
The "Golden Anchor" or "Goldener Anker" served up the local Pils with a smile.
Next up.......a very cold and snowy Berlin.
