Sick, with a Side of Fever

Not many photos this week because Susannah has been SICK.   What started last Monday as a little runny nose had steam-rolled into a full fledged 102 degree fever by Thursday night.    She was a sad sight to behold all weekend.

We watched more than our fair share of "Thomas the Train" and "Curious George."

Right after a dose of Ibuprofin, the fever would come down and she would feel better for an hour or so....

which allowed for impromptu dance parties in our pjs like this one.   But before we knew it, the fever would return and she would be back in our laps shivering or sweating.

Saturday she woke up asking to go to the beach so we thought the worst was over.    By the time we made it to the sand though, she was cold and asking to go home.   She wasn't even enthused by her sand toys.   Even this adorable outfit didn't lift her spirits.

By Monday morning, we decided it was time to call the doctor.    Turns out it is just a nasty virus that has warped into a double ear-infection, so we headed home confident she would be feeling better soon.   On our way to the pharmacy for her meds, we fulfilled our promise of frozen yogurt with m&m's on top.   This lifted her spirits momentarily.    Side note about the doctor visit:   When the nurse weighed and measured her using the big kid equipment instead of the baby stuff, I almost teared up.   She is such a little kid now.   This fact makes my heart simultaneously soar and sink.

"This stuff is tasty!"

Nothing like fro-yo to soothe a sore throat.

As of yesterday we were fever free and feeling much better.   Hope all of you are having healthy and happy weeks!
