This Easter was extra special because Uncle Hollis was here from South Carolina. The girls absolutely adore him and it has been so fun watching them laugh and play together. Here is the weekend in pictures........
| Friday was fun because we got a big Easter package from Grammy! Fun, fun! |
| We also dyed our Easter Eggs on Friday. Both girls (and Daddy) were really into it. |
| Easter memories |
| It was so exciting that this little one was old enough to participate in all the fun. |
| Peter made some cool designs. As usual, he proved himself to be the crafty parent. |
| My big girl and me |
| Then on Saturday morning, Uncle Hollis arrived!!! He was such a good sport and started reading and playing with the girls immediately. |
| It was a sunny, warm day, so we headed downtown to enjoy the sunshine. Susannah and I were excited to wear our matching lightweight jackets. |
| We stopped to watch the ducks for a little while. |
| It was our first warm sunny day of the year and we soaked it up. |
| Sunday morning came early because we changed our clocks on Saturday night. But the Easter Bunny had left some awesome baskets so that provided the extra energy boost we needed. |
| These girls were sooo excited!! |
| Wow! |
| This one was excited about her goodies, but she steered clear of the bunny prints on the floor. She was very suspicious of those. |
| As I look at these pictures, I'm singing that song, "These are the Days to Remember" in my head. Such sweet memories. |
| Pivotal childhood milestone: The first peep. |
| The girls had sunglasses |
| and matching swimsuits in their baskets. |
| They have had so much fun this week playing Easter Egg hunt with their baskets and their resurrection eggs. |
| After breakfast we got dressed in our Sunday school finest. |
| I don't know how long Susannah will be on board with the matching outfits, so I'm taking full advantage while I can |
| Even Daddy got in on the yellow theme. |
| I was keeping the nursery so no dressy Sunday clothes for me. |
| And again with the "These are the Days...." |
| After church and nap-time, we headed to a friend's house for more egg hunting. |
| Sarah Avery understood the concept this time. |
| "Where are some other ones Daddy?" |
| Susannah and Nora thought that Egg hunting would be so much more fun in princess attire. |
| Swinging with Uncle Hollis |
| Wheeeee!!!! |
| Both girls had fun on the trampoline. (And Peter almost killed one of the big kids by bouncing him too high, but we won't focus on that unfortunate incident.) |
| These girls have grown up so much since they met as 2 years olds. |
| Taking a rest with Daddy from all the fun. |
Now that we are starting to wind down our time here in Stuttgart, afternoons like we spent on Sunday are bitter sweet. We will always be thankful for the amazing people that God placed in our life for this stage. We hope you all had Easter weekends that were full of sunshine and celebration. He is risen! We love and miss you all.
