Celebrating May

A month has passed since I last posted and not much has changed......we are still doing home school and spending our time at home. It has been a fun May though.......Peter and the girls treated me to awesome Mother's Day and birthday weekends.  Here are the pictures from our last four weeks.

We’ve been riding bikes often.  I had to snap a pic of Susannah on this day....she was ready for action!

Honey loves having us home all day.  Here she is helping Susannah sort her word study words.

We have done a couple of science experiments.as part of home school......the girls loved this bubble one.

We started Mother's Day weekend off right.....Thai takeout and champagne for dinner!

On Sunday, I had beautiful presents to open.

Susannah bought the card she gave me with her own allowance money and was so excited to give it to me.

We have had some nice sunny days, so reading in the front yard was a good way to pass an afternoon.

As was dressing up as Princess Rae from Star Wars
A local photographer is doing a project where he comes by and takes a quarantine family photo.  It's free and apparently a trend all over the world.  So we signed up and this was our picture.

We let the girls take the day off from school on my birthday so we could go for a hike.  On the way out of our neighborhood we saw this.  Our friends had decorated their front windows for my birthday.  It was such a sweet surprise.
We went hiking in a state park about 30 minutes from our house.  It was the perfect way to spend my 39th birthday.
We were so excited to be out of the house and in the forest.
The girls had a blast.
Especially when the trail led us to this bay with shells and tide pools.

They played and played and are already begging to go back.   It was so peaceful.  And we saw two eagles and a water snake!

Spending the day with these three was the best birthday gift.

Peter cut these roses out of the bushes in our yard as another birthday treat when we returned from our hike.

And then the girls called me outside for another surprise........a parade!

Friends came by with signs and banners and drove by with balloons.  It was amazing.

And then we came inside for carrot cake and presents.  This cake was the best carrot cake I've ever tasted.

Thank you Peter, Susannah and Sarah Avery.  You have made me feel so loved these past two weekends.  I'm the luckiest Mommy in the world.  ;)
And now we are focusing on getting ready for the big move.  No exact dates yet, but we are prepping.  We hope all is well with all of you and everybody is happy and healthy.  We love and miss you all!
