Spain & Portugal

During our trip to the Iberian Peninsula we had the opportunity to explore a couple of classic and beautiful cities on the Atlantic coast. Our first stop was a day trip to Cadiz, Spain.

Although we weren't in Cadiz as long as would like we took the opportunity to see some of this charming Spanish city and her beautiful gardens.

I chatted a little with the local fisherman. Even though they didn't speak english and I don't speak spanish, the phrase "any luck" seems to be universal.

After enjoying the morning breeze along the bay, we stumbled upon a great covered market in the center of town.

...and of course we hit the beach to soak up a little sun..

Our next stop on our journey put us in Lisbon, Portugal. Here are some pics of the beautiful main square and old city gate.

Although the rain slowed us down a bit, we did get the chance to take in some great sights in Lisbon including the Museum of Archeology where we saw a real "mummy" from Egypt.

We strolled over to the park in downtown Lisbon and we noticed these quite colorful trees:

Lisbon is Europe's version of San Francisco....well as far the architecture, transportation and terrain goes.

Coming up real soon, more highlights from our trip to Slovenia and Croatia with Lyndsey and Nick from K-town.
