Greetings and Good News

Well, we have officially signed a lease for a beautiful apartment in Stuttgart.   It is in our favorite neighborhood and directly across the street from a playground.   We are hoping to move in on Friday and are sooooo thankful that our nomadic lifestyle is finally drawing to a close.

We have celebrated our new apartment in the most German of ways....with good beer and warm food and a Saturday afternoon in the Black Forest.......Here are some pics:

The brew house that is walking distance to our hotel has a great playground

It has quickly become our favorite spot to spend an afternoon

Susannah loves it as much as we do.

Chowing down on her very first schnitzel......she is definitely her Poppy's grand-daughter.

"Hooray!!   We found an apartment!"

We haven't made it to Stuttgart for their Oktoberfest, but now that the house-hunt is over, it is on our list for next week.

On Saturday we headed toward the Black Forest to a place that we had taken Susannah as a baby.   As we headed into the mountains, the villages became more and more picturesque

I couldn't stop snapping pictures out of the car window.   It was so nice to finally relax and enjoy the fact that we are back in Europe!!   Yay!!

We spent the afternoon up in the mountains at the beautiful restaurant that is at the foot of several trailheads.   It is full of hikers, but also caters to families and has some goats and a playground.

Isn't it beautiful?

Susannah LOVED feeding the goats.

The view from the deck is so phenomenal.

And the playground is pretty fun too.

The pictures definitely don't do it justice.

Enjoying the playground and the mountain sunshine

Last picture of the view.....promise.

Susannah has been scared of slides lately, but she braved this one in my lap.

Swinging on top of the world

After a lunch of tarte flambée and goulash soup, we were ready for a little hike.

Sussannah loved "exploring like Dora"

More amazing views

checking out the ants in the freshly cut trees

the entire trail smelled like Christmas because of all the evergreen lumber that was bordering the path.

Susannah turned out to be quite the little hiker, running ahead for most of the walk.
If everything goes as planned, next week's post will feature pictures of our new apartment.    Hope all is well with all of you.   We love and miss you all!
