Here in Stuttgart, October has ushered in some beautiful fall weather. The leaves are really starting to turn and they look so beautiful against the clear, blue skies that we have been enjoying. The air is crisp and fresh, but still warm enough to enjoy being outside without a coat.......it is definitely my favorite time of year. This weekend we took advantage of the perfect weather to do a couple of quintessential autumn activities. This week also marked Sarah Avery's sixth week, and she is cuter and more alert than ever. Here are some pictures:
| This girl already loves her Daddy. |
| And he already has her laughing. |
| I love all of her different facial expressions. |
| She is smiling all the time now, but I can never seem to snag it with my camera. This was one of my failed attempts. |
| She holds her arms like this all the time and it always makes me think of a superhero pose. |
Susannah likes to play hairdresser and Sarah Avery is her newest victim customer. |
| Susannah was ready to pose for a picture......her sister, not so much. |
| These cheeks just keep getting fuller. |
| "talking" |
| Friday was a German holiday, Unification Day, and we were invited by some friends to go apple picking. It was the perfect weather and so much fun. |
| Susannah had a blast. She taste tested LOTS of apples. |
| We were sad Peter had to work and miss all this fun. |
| We had a delicious picnic right there under the apple trees. |
| After the sausages were all roasted, it was time for some marshmallow action. |
| Susannah didn't like it when hers got "dirty", so she ended up just eating uncooked ones. |
| Saturday morning pj time. |
| Kisses from big sister. |
| Talking to Daddy. |
| silly faces. |
| This is the face she makes when she is "talking". She concentrates so hard to get her little sounds out. |
| Autumn activity #2 was Saturday afternoon. Peter's command hosted their annual Fall Festival. We went last year when we had just moved to Stuttgart, but this year was so much more fun. Susannah was old enough to really enjoy all the kid activities and Peter and I had friends this go around, so it was a great afternoon. |
| All the kids wear their Halloween costumes, so Susannah was Elsa. She had so much fun pretending this playground structure was her castle. |
| Dancing. |
| It was so neat to see how much Susannah had changed since last year. I'm not sure whether to credit kindergarten or just maturity, but this year she was a totally different girl than the little shy, timid Susannah that was at the event last year. |
| Hanging out in Mommy and Daddy's bed before getting ready for church. |
So that was our week. Hope all of you are enjoying your autumn weather too. We love and miss you all.
