Finally, Alexandria is our Official Home!

Whew!   The past few weeks have been a whirlwind.   Susannah and Sarah Avery have both been busy with school, we had our first family case of lice, we finally received our household goods,(Those last two things happened on the same day, which almost caused me to have a panic attack.) we started landscaping the backyard, and we celebrated Halloween.   Happily exhausted, we are enjoying having pictures on the walls and a home that feels like home.   I didn't have time to take many pictures during unpacking, but I have a few from Halloween to share.   We hope that you all had a Happy Halloween!

We love having a backyard, but our needs some work.   So Peter has been faithfully putting in the hours making it a great place for the girls and meadow.

We love our new church.   The girls are especially happy with all the kids activities.

We bought a fire-pit and Susannah has declared Sunday nights as our official family s'mores night.

We have had crazy Fall temps.....some days it is 75, others it is 40.   We are  enjoying both!

Susannah had her very first field trip a few weeks back.  They rode a school bus (which was the most exciting part for her I think) to a pumpkin patch nearby.  

I couldn't go because SA wasn't invited, but  a friend of our was a chaperone and she took these pics for us. 

Sunday was the Fall Festival at our church.   The girls were so excited to wear their costumes.   It was a beautiful afternoon, so we decided to walk over instead of driving.

Instead of carving pumpkins this year, we decorated with stickers.   Our neighbors host a carving party every year and since Peter couldn't make it, I decided we would skip the knives this year and go for something that required a little less supervision.  ;)

The last event of the evening was a tour of the Fire Truck.   The girls loved this almost as much as their Daddy did.

And then last night, it was time to don our costumes again for trick or treating.   

Ever since the day we moved in to this neighborhood, I have been looking forward to trick-or-treating.   Halloween is a big deal here and one street a few blocks over even shuts down completely and has every single house decorated.   It was a blast. 

The girls wanted Meadow to come, but she stayed home and handed out candy instead.  ;

We hit the neighbors first.   This house had a talking skeleton that the girls were not very fond of.

We ran into a few friends and classmates.   Susannah's friend Gray had the coolest robot costume.  

In other news, Susannah's first Daisy meeting is this afternoon.   Getting her vest up to speed was not the easiest task for this craft-phobic mama.   But I think all the patches are on in the right spot.   ;)
