Halloween and Finishing up Fall Sports

It's been a fun couple of week's since our last post.   Halloween was just as fun as we had been expecting and we have enjoyed watching Susannah's last fall sporting events.   Now we are ready for a nice, relaxing Thanskgiving that involves lots of lazy morning in our pjs and lots of warm delicious food with friends.   Here are the pictures from Halloween and other fun......

The girls loved helping with the pumpkin carving.

And this little one was the cutest Dalmatian puppy I'd ever seen.

The Fall Festival at church was partially rained out, but we still headed over for the indoor fun.  

The fan favorite of the afternoon was definitely meeting Belle and the Beast. 

Sarah Avery and I ended up with a free afternoon one day so we had a little ice cream cone together.   With sprinkles!

Her preschool teacher did this to her hair.   If only her mama was crafty and capable of this.  ;)

Tuesday brought Halloween.   Our jack-o-lanterns were ready.   This one is Princess Rey's silhouette.

And this one was a kitty kat.   The girls decorated the white ones with stickers at a little neighborhood pumpkin carving party.   We opted for stickers since we weren't sure about their knife skills.

We left early and hit a couple of neighbor's houses on our walk to a friend's house where we were all meeting for pizza.

Sarah Avery was ALL ABOUT the trick-or-treating this year.   It was so fun to watch.

She walked right up with no trepidation.  

 

We had a great backyard pizza party with this crew before heading out as a trick-or-treating pack.  

Before we knew it, we were home and inspecting our loot.   They had a good haul, right?

After Halloween, we had one more week of soccer and running club.   This was Susannah's last game.   

 

She played her little heart out and even scored a goal!

We ordered the girls some rakes so they can help us keep up with the leaves this fall.   

They have actually been a pretty big help.

Susannah had last Tuesday off for voting day, but SA had school which meant it was the perfect opportunity for the second meeting of our book club.   We had lunch and shared a cupcake and discussed Susannah's favorite characters in The World According to Humphrey.

Shoo Shoo is still fighting her big, brave battle to recover from her heart transplant.   She requested some homemade Thanksgiving decorations for her hospital room, so we got right to work.    

Peter was traveling last week, but he made it home just in time to give the Veteran's Day talk to Susannah's class.   She was so proud to have her Daddy there. 

He brought his flight helmet as a little prop.  

And this past Saturday was a big day......Susannah ran her first 5k!   She has been participating in a little running club that her babysitter organized as part of her girl scout gold project.   They have been practicing once a week since September and I have been the adult/sponsor/supervisor.   After my surgery I never thought I would be coaching again, so this was a fun little project for both of us!    

Peter ran with Susannah and she beat him in the last kick.  ;)

Could not be more proud of this determined girl.   She was one of the youngest in the club and she ran the entire race without walking.   She rocked it!

Last night, we hosted a little spaghetti dinner celebration to honor the girls for their accomplishment.  Every single one of them finished the race!   This is Coach Griffin reading a little description of each of the girls.  

She presented each of them with little 5k stickers and running girl hair bows.  It was such a fun way to celebrate the girls and tie up the season.  

And that is what has been happening here in the Mallory household.   I hope that all is well with each of you.   We are sending big Thanksgiving hugs from Alexandria.
