Last Post from Coronado

Well, the time has come for our final post from Coronado.    These 2 years have by far been the fastest of my entire life.   And some of the most beautiful.   And most challenging.   Saying good-bye is always tough, but we are really excited for the adventures that we have to look forward to as we head back across the pond.   Here are a few photos of our last week in Southern California.....

Peter and I spent Wednesday checking out some of the other beach communities is San Diego.   Here are the seals in La Jolla.

La Jolla shores is really beautiful....even on a cloudy day.

Just like Coronado though, lots of tourists everywhere.

It was cool walking around the little rocky coves and watching the seaspray.

We had a delicious lunch with an amazing view.

Then we headed south to Pacific and Ocean Beaches.   This is the longest pier on the west coast.   We walked to the end and watched the fishermen.   We also had ice cream and Julian apple pie, but I can't get that photo to load.   Had to mention the pie though because it lived up to all the hype.

Peter posted our beach cruisers on craigslist yesterday and sold them in ten minutes flat.   So we thought we would take out $100 and spend it in the most responsible fashion possible.....at the horse races in Del Mar.

In all seriousness, we had been wanting to experience the track before we left and were so happy that we had time to squeeze it in.   Susannah loved looking at all the horses in the Paddock.

Susannah and Daddy with our winning bet ticket.

It was fun to get all dressed up too.

They loaded the horses right in front of us for one of the races which was really neat to see.
And now we are in full packing mode.    One more night in our little blue beach house before we say good-bye.   It's been fun Coronado!   Thanks for all the memories!!   And to all of our friends and family on the east coast.......we can't wait to see you all in a few short days!
