On the Road Again

Well, we are three weeks into our two month long transition to Germany.    While living out of suitcases can be challenging, we have enjoyed soaking up all the family time we can before we head back across the Atlantic.   Susannah and I spent the first week in Knoxville at Grammy's house.   We had an amazing visit full of happy memories.   Here are some of the highlights......

In keeping with our tradition, we scheduled a grandmother/mother/daughter lunch with my two best childhood friends.

Last time we were all three pregnant together........this time it was 2 out of 3.   I'm behind the curve!!!

Our sweet girls played so well together.

I promise Susannah had fun.  I just never snapped the camera during a smiling moment.

I hate how rarely I see these girls but it definitely makes me treasure every moment that we do have together.

We were really blessed during our week to be able to spend several different days with Aunt Susan and Uncle Andy and cousins Andy and Caleb.   Susannah LOVES her aunt Susan.

Probably in part because of all the adorable presents she always gives, such as this outfit, complete with blinged out fedora.

Uncle Caleb played bubbles after lunch

which Susannah absolutely loved.

She also loved reading with Uncle Andy and Grandmama.

We spent Sunday going to Dandridge for church with A LOT of our distant cousins.   Then we had lunch at Aunt Susan's house where Susannah tried desperately to win over their cat.

Watching Susannah in a place where so many of my most treasured memories originated was very special to me.

Aunt Susan had some especially fun bubble toys.

Susannah definitely seemed to like country living.

Including rocking her baby doll in this adorable rocking chair.

One of the greatest highlights of the week, of course, was spending lots of quality time with Grammy.   Susannah loved the legos that Grammy had for her.

We spent one other morning with Lyndsey and Ellie at Lyndsey's parent's beautiful home.

The girls enjoyed lunch al fresca by the lake after a morning of splashing in the pool.

Watching Susannah play so well with Ellie was such fun for Lyndsey and me.

We had lots of fun bubble time with Grammy too.

Susannah LOVES her Grammy

Such fun.

Susannah helped Grammy water her plants every night

which she was so proud to do.

Too bad for her that her Mommy will most likely never have plants for her to water.  ;)

4 generations.........what a blessing.

Thanks to every friend and family member that made this week so full of joy.    We love each and every one of you.   Grammy, your hospitality was so wonderful and Grandmama, so was your food!!!    After spending a week in Fort Morgan, Alabama at the beach with Peter's family, we are now in Georgia visiting Mimi and Poppy.    Up next, beach pics!!
