Pool and a birthday party

Nothing new to report except that we are waiting for baby day while trying to stay cool.   Last weekend was a scorcher so we spent Friday and Saturday at the pool.   (I plan to dedicate another post to the amazing phenomenon that is the German pool complex.   It is so cool I would venture to call it a waterpark.)    And Saturday, at the hottest part of the afternoon, we even went so far as to shut ourselves up in our bedroom with the AC unit.   Susannah thought it was so fun to spend a few hours playing in Mommy and Daddy's room.   She is over the summer heat though.   A few nights ago during bedtime prayers, she prayed, "...and thank you that you will bring back winter soon."  After the weekend though, the heat broke and we have enjoyed highs in the low 80s.   Thankfully, our apartment stays pretty cool, so this temperature range is pretty comfortable for us.

Peter and I toured the hospital this week and it looks great.   Pretty similar to where we delivered Susannah in France.   Seeing the delivery rooms and the newborn babies in the maternity ward made us both so excited.   We are trying to enjoy our last bit of time with Susannah though and are really trying to cherish every full night of sleep that we have.

Here are the few pics we took last week.

Ready for our pool day.

We ran into one of Susannah's best friends from school at the pool.  They had the BEST time playing in the kiddie pool together.

On Sunday after church we headed to a 3rd birthday party for one of our friends from church.   Susannah had a blast playing in their yard.

This party marked Susannah's first experience with a Piñata.  She was a huge fan.

Especially when it came to the candy gathering part.

 Just as fun as Halloween!

Yep, she was all about it!

The church that is across the street from our apartment and is the parent church of Susannah's  kindergarten hosted a huge Family Festival on Sunday so when we returned from the party, Peter took Susannah over to try out some of the games.   This slide contraption is at every kid friendly event we have seen over here.   And she loves it.   She even did one in an inter-tube into the pool earlier this weekend.    Peter said she did this one about 20 times in a row.      She saw some of her school friends too, which is always fun.
We received an awesome package from our friends in Japan,  the Campoamor's .   It was full of goodies for Susannah and her little sister.    This new sun hat was a big hit.   But probably the biggest hit of all were the children's chopsticks.   She refuses to use a fork at dinner now, and is actually pretty impressive with them.   But even if it takes her twenty tries to pick up a slippery strawberry slice, she won't use a fork.

 Thank you Campoamors!!

And that is it for this week.   Hope all of you are doing well.   Three weeks and counting!!
