Well, Sarah Avery is 12 days old today and we are doing well. She is a pretty laid back baby......she only cries when she is hungry and she is great about going right back to sleep after night-time feedings. The only thing I can think to wish for is that those night-time feedings were a little farther apart. We average 2.5-3.5 hours of sleep in between each feeding. Sometimes a little more, sometimes less. I'm so thankful for Aunt Nancy because if Sarah Avery goes back to sleep until 8:30 am or so, then I can sleep too. After Nanc leaves, we will have to be up to get Susannah fed, dressed and off to school. This seems overwhelming to me right now, but I'm hoping it will seem more manageable three weeks from now when I will actually have to manage it. ;) All of you mama's of two, three and four kids, you are rock-stars and I'm applauding you right now as I type.
Susannah is an amazing big sister and loves Sarah Avery so much. She loves to help with diaper changes and loves to hold her. No jealousy yet, so we are keeping fingers crossed that will remain the case. Peter just went back to work today and we miss him already. He is the best Daddy......loves taking care of all three of his girls. Here are the pictures we took this week.
| Day 2 out of the hospital and we were ready for some frozen yogurt. |
| Susannah wanted to try mine of course. |
| We hadn't planned to buy a new stroller, but Peter found this convertible bassinet style (the more accepted form for infants here in Europe) on a yardsale website for a great deal so we snagged it. After a deep cleaning, it was ready to go. Sarah Avery has already taken some great naps in it. |
| Relaxing with Daddy. |
| Susannah is singing to her sister in this photo. Sarah Avery loved it...... |
| until she didn't. ;) |
| Daddy love. |
| She is so much more alert every single day. |
| This weekend was the kick-off of the Stuttgart wine festival so we headed downtown on Saturday to check it out. Sarah Avery did great. |
| And this one loved all the free stuff they were giving away. Funny face # 1...... |
| Face #2 |
| Face #3 |
| She definitely isn't lacking in personality, is she?? |
| We still haven't lost our umbilical cord yet, so we are following doctor's orders and only doing sponge baths. Here we are all wrapped up after our first one. |
| Susannah loves to have Sarah Avery hang out in her room. She reads to her and it makes my heart so happy. |
| Looks like "Fancy Nancy" was making her a little sleepy. |
| She is already starting to look more distinguishable from her sister as a baby. I'm predicting this one will be our brown eyed girl. |
| Growing every day. |
She loves Susannah's voice and looks right at her when she talks or sings.
That is it for this week. We love and miss everybody so much. And a great big Happy 10th Anniversary to the best husband, friend, and co-parent a girl could ever ask for. I love you Peter! (Excuse the sap, but 10 years is a big deal. Due to obvious circumstances, we won't be celebrating with a traditional date night or weekend away. Instead, we will head to the passport office on base with Sarah Avery in tow, prepared for lots of paperwork and waiting. So romantic, right?? ;)

I love how silly Susannah is in pictures now!!!! :) Not so shy anymore!!! :) :) :) Does Sarah look like Susannah did at first??? :) :)
