Our Little Daredevil

I haven't posted in a couple of weeks because we have been continuing our month long illness streak and haven't done anything very photo worthy.   Finally, everybody seems to be well or almost well, so we are keeping fingers crossed that we can have an antibiotic-free month.   Not much new to report except that Sarah Avery has become a little circus monkey.   She loves to climb and jump and slide and do all manner of things that may likely provide a ticket to the emergency room.    The only other excitement in our life lately is that Fasching (German Mardi Gras) is in full swing.   Susannah had a big Fasching party at school last week and she dressed up as Elsa.   And last night we had a birthday party that was Fasching themed so she dressed up as Elsa again.   Tomorrow we will go to the family parade downtown after school where she will be, you guessed it,  Elsa.

On Friday afternoons after school our neighborhood church hosts an indoor playground.   It is such a nice place for the girls to run off energy when the weather is too wintry for the real playground.

A month ago it was even more fun for me because SA was still tame and I could sit with other moms and drink coffee and chat.

Now that she is a wild child, I no longer have that luxury.   I instead am chasing her around trying to keep her out of a full body cast.

She loves the trampoline

She is mad in the picture because she doesn't want to share with Susannah.

Morning snuggles with Daddy.

While her adventurous spirit gives me anxiety sometimes, her smiles and giggles are the absolute best.

She seems to change and learn something new every single day.

She loves to cook in the kitchen, take care of the baby-dolls and play with paper dolls.    She also really loves books now.   Which is great since she hated them during the first year of her life.

She loves to stand up and dive head first into this ball pit.   Crazy girl.

Saturday morning we headed to this urban farm that is down the street from our apartment.   They have some goats and bunnies.

This goat's name was Ben.

He was pretty friendly.

The bunnies weren't coming out of their houses, so the girls spent most of the time on this trampoline.

SA loved it and laughed more and more the harder Susannah bounced her.

After the farm, SA and Daddy went home for naptime while this big girl and I headed down the street to our favorite brunch place.   We had so much fun chatting and playing "I spy" over our pancakes and eggs Benedict.    We are so proud of how responsible and kind she is.

Sunday after church and naptime, it was time to put on our costumes and head down the street to a birthday party.

Trying to get them to sit still while smiling and looking is so impossible.

But at least we try.

Little giraffe.

And our sweet Elsa.

The birthday party was fun for all ages.   The little girls did crafts and danced.   The babies played in the play-room.   And the adults drank champagne, ate cheese and chatted.   It was delightful for all!    Happy Fat Tuesday to everybody!   We love and miss you all!
