This week has been refreshingly uneventful in the Mallory household. Our three highlights were, in this order:
1. Air Conditioning
2. Potty Training
3. Soccer Class
I don't have pictures of the first two, so I will give a little explanation instead........it is HOT in San Diego right now. And it has been HOT for over a month now. Weather in the 80s is very rare on Coronado, so most homes do not have AC. We explored the option of buying a window unit, but kept thinking that the heat would break. It still hasn't and the forecast is calling for temps in the 90's this weekend. The 90s!!! I would be fighting tears just imagining how miserable our house is going to be, but thanks to my amazing husband, I can laugh at the forecast because...........WE HAVE AC!!! It is just a window unit, but it cools our room and Susannah's room and allowed us to use one of our big windows fans in the den. It has made such a difference and we are all so happy. I think Meadow is the happiest. She sits outside the bedroom door all day now because she knows that it is where the cool air is.
Potty training round #2 has officially started this week. We are taking a more relaxed approach this time. Susannah is wearing pull-ups and spending lots of time sitting on the potty. She has a sticker chart and gets a sticker every time she sits on the potty. We haven't had any actual success yet though. We are going to keep pressing though, with hopes that when she gets it, she will really get it and we can officially put the diapers away.
Now for most hilarious part of the week.....soccer class. Susannah is taking a mommy and me soccer class this fall and Monday was our first meeting. It was everything I had hoped for and more. Her class has around 7 toddlers and it is very organized, very adorable chaos. Here are some pics......
| Standing with one of her new friends. |
| Learning to sit on our soccer ball during circle time. |
| Playing with cones. |
| Who knows what we were supposed to be doing here? |
| Balancing the ball on the cone and then kicking it off..... |
| Pretty solid first try Susannah!! |
| You see what I mean about the chaos??/ |
| Susanna likes to throw the ball as much as kick them. |
| After each activity, they help clean up by taking their equipment to Coach Shiloh. |
| We were supposed to play a little Mommy and me version of flag football, but Susannah wasn't too interested in that part. |
| She LOVED the ribbons though. |
| Chasing Mommy with the ribbons. |
| Susannah's other favorite part was the tunnel. They did a little drill where they crawled through the tunnel and kicked the ball in the goal. It was hilarious and so fun to watch. |
| More ribbon action. |
| Hula-hoop time was fun too. |
| And tennis was a hit as well. It was funny because during this part the coach made us spread the kids really far out so that we avoided them knocking each other out with the rackets. ;) |
| Susannah's BFF Leyton is taking the class with her. Here they are carb-loading the day before class. |
| So sweet! |
All in all, a pretty great week so far. Have a great weekend everybody!
Wow. I am so envious... a mommy and me soccer class!!! It looks like a blast!!! :)
